Image Maker

I’ve photographed architecture and interiors professionally in Metro Vancouver since 2006, but have been making art my entire life.  I studied Art, Theatre & Set Design at university, and shortly thereafter discovered Photoshop & digital art. While working as a Photoshop retoucher for a travel photography company, I fell in love with architectural photography and set out to learn the craft, with the desire to bring attention to good design, as well as bring my fine art background into the process of digital photography.

I’ve since photographed thousands of homes, installations & new developments, shooting for architects, developers, designers, contractors, stagers & artists, shooting all over the province, including Whistler & the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, the Sunshine Coast & Powell River, Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, BC’s Interior, wherever worthy design takes me.

My clients have included B+H Architects, S2 Architecture, Concord Adex, Scott Construction, Kasian, Turner Construction, Thibodeau Architecture & Design, Central City Brewers & Distillers, Smith + Andersen, MAXXiT Systems, BGIS-Canada, Distinct Interiors, Westlab, Grafton Apparel, Camper Shoes, CDM2 Lightworks, Turco Homes, KG Interior Design, Century Group Inc., Mint Tiny House Company, University of Amsterdam, Mac’s II Agencies, Positive Space Staging & Design, Kenzi Design House, Janet Scagel Design, Bayside Cabinets and more…

With an artist’s eye for engaging and thoughtful composition, I approach each image as it’s own fine art piece, doing all my own processing/retouching, which helps consistency with the original vision, and allows me to bring all my skills to every project.  My style aims to be both artful and natural, with the emphasis usually on the effect of ambient light & contrast, as opposed to artificially lit scenes. The goal is to produce images that emphasize artistic design, while documenting the natural look we see with our eyes.  I then deliver high-quality, high-resolution images with a well-balanced dynamic range that can meet every need.

Even though I have mainly focused on architectural and interior photography, what I specifically am passionate about is celebrating artists and beautiful, thoughtful design wherever it’s found, and am fulfilled by creating and perfecting artistically-crafted imagery where that can be reflected. This extends beyond architecture and design to collaborating with artists of all types. In the past couple years I have been branching out into other more creative work as well.

Born in Victoria, BC, I lived in the US & Japan briefly before returning home to Canada. I currently live in Metro Vancouver with my wife & three children. When not photographing buildings & interiors or working on other art, I’m often out taking landscape photographs.

I am available for projects globally.

I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and other Coast Salish peoples and am grateful to be able to make a life here.
